Dave Cronin

Dave is a design director at General Electric, where he's working to bring design to the conception and creation of product experiences from medical imaging to power plant control rooms. Based out of the newly formed GE software center in the Bay Area, he's also working on the user experience of GE's new software platform for the industrial internet (i.e., the internet of big things), where sensors and advanced analytics are being used to radically evolve the capabilities and performance of big industrial equipment from jet engines to water purification plants.

Before joining GE, Dave was the Director of Interaction Design at Smart Design, San Francisco, and a Managing Director at Cooper. He's co-author of About Face 3.0 with Alan Cooper, and is particularly passionate about how design can play a role in addressing big challenges related to health and healthcare around the world.
